This is one of the common stories we hear in Berlin as well as in many other cities around the world lately. It’s about the loss of everyone’s little playgrounds as a result of rising land prices.

October 27, 2024 Johannes Marx, who was a member of the atelier, releases a single “Goodbye Atelier SHOXXXBOXXX” under the name of his collective MARX – an emotional tribute to the loss of their longtime creative space. The single addresses the gentrification in Berlin and the loss of spaces for art and community. The accompanying music video tells the story of the atelier in a comic-style aesthetic, capturing how vibrant it once was.
